A city is a system composed of houses coexisting in extremely close quarters. A dwelling is defined as the smallest non-dividable unit within the constructed urban mass. However, there is not always a balance between the number of dwellings and how accessible they are, nor is there a correlation between the quality of the space (natural light, ventilation) and the price that is paid to live in them under decent conditions – the high price of electricity, water, and heating trigger social dramas such as energy poverty.

A growing population, coupled with the limited availability of land, highlight the need to rethink and reuse infrastructures that have been rendered obsolete, going beyond speculative interests.
