Stefano Boeri

Architect and urban planner

A graduate in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan and a PhD from the Venice University Institute of Architecture. Interested by the environment, Boeri founded Multiplicity, an agency dedicated to researching the physical environment made up of architects, geographers, artists, urban planners, photographers, sociologists, economists and film makers, among other professional profiles, and aimed at creating urban world intervention and study strategies. He is also the founder of theTomorrow, a platform for promoting exchanges of ideas on art, migration, education and creativity from various cultures. 

In 2008 he set up Stefano Boeri Architetti (SBA), with its head office in Milan and offices in Shanghai and Tirana. The studio is dedicated to architecture and urban planning research and practice. One of his most important projects is known as the Vertical Forest in Milan (2014), which received the High Rise Building Award from the Frankfurt Museum of Architecture in 2014 and the CTBUH Award in 2015 as Best High Rise Building. His works have been published in Domus, ICON, Lotus, 2G, Russia Project, MIT Press, Harvard Design Magazine and Corriere della Sera, among other publications.
