Lecturer in Preventive Medicine and Public Health

Lecturer in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Universidad de Alcalá, in the Department of Surgery and Medical and Social Sciences. Associate professor at the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. His lines of research include reproductive and perinatal health, immigrant populations, cardiovascular diseases, social epidemiology, urban health, tobacco and alcohol consumption, employment health and qualitative research in social aspects such as inequalities in health.

He is the director of the Heart Healthy Hoods project, funded by the European Research Council. This involves an interdisciplinary team, consisting of some 20 specialists in epidemiology, sociology, geography, primary health care and public health, combining techniques from the various disciplines.
