Ethel Baraona

Publisher, critic, curator, and co-founder of the research studio and publisher’s dpr-barcelona

Publisher, critic and curator. Also the co-founder of dpr-barcelona, an independent research studio and publishing company based in Barcelona, which published Quaderns d’arquitectura i urbanisme from 2011 to 2018 and a member of the Volume editorial board.

Her work can be found in architecture books and magazines, such as Open Source Architecture (Thames and Hudson, 2015), The Form of Form (Lars Muller, 2016), Together! The New Architecture of the Collective (Ruby Press, 2017), Architecture is All Over (Columbia Books of Architecture, 2017), Inéditos 2017 (La Casa Encendida, 2017), Harvard Design Magazine and e-flux, among others.

The exhibitions she has curated include ‘Adhocracy Athens’ (with César Reyes and Pelin Tan) for the Onassis Cultural Centre, 2015, which won the 2016 ADI Culture Award and ‘Doce fábulas urbanas,’ [Twelve Urban Fables] currently on show at the Matadero Madrid (until January 2021).

Since 2016, dpr-barcelona has been a member of the Future Architecture platform, the first pan-European platform for museums, festivals and institutions dedicated to the promotion of architecture.
