Globalisation entailed offshoring and relocating huge swaths of industry, moving it from the northern cities to the southern parts of the globe. In Barcelona, a drive to re-localise industry comes from the maker movements and designers in small and large industrial complexes, this time staking their future on this fomenting greater social and environmental justice and bringing vitality to neighbourhoods.

In this activity, two communities from Poblenou that are working on relocalisation will meet to explore the strengths and weaknesses of furthering urban production. One centres on the maker community (Fablab) and the other revolves around the social and solidarity economy (Observatori del Poblenou).
