Techno-scientific development involves promises and projections that structure visions of the future which we, as a society, wish to pursue or avoid.

This configuration of images is a deeply political terrain where risk capital, ways of producing knowledge, forms of social organisation and expectations struggle to define what the world is and ought to be.

This activity presents two complementary approaches to the relationship between technology, future, politics, imagination and socio-technical transformation.

Andreu Belsunces and the Harvard lecturer Sheila Jasanoff will be discussing how markets, algorithms, speculative thinking, infrastructures and regulations relate to another another in the emergence and stabilisation of new realities.
