PhD in Social Anthropology, specialising in Political Economy and Housing. Juan de la Cierva is a researcher at the University of Barcelona (IGOP), co-founder of the La Hidra think tank and spokesperson for the Tenants Union (Sindicat de Llogaters). He has been carrying out research since 2006 on such issues as the origins of property and financial bubbles, the expansion of home ownership and changes in rent, the transformations of the construction sector and urban inequality. He has been visiting researcher at Goldsmiths College (University of London), the Graduate Center (New York) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciencies Sociales (Paris).
