Núria Guiu

Choreographer and dancer, student of Anthropology and Human Evolution

A choreographer and dancer, she is currently an undergraduate in Anthropology and Human Evolution at the UOC and a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher. A graduate of the Institut del Teatre and the IT Dansa postgraduate programme, Guiu has been a dancer/performer in several national and international companies, including Carte Blanche Dance Company, Cullberg Ballet, Batsheva Dance Company (Kamuyot/Riksteatern Sweden), Jasmin Vardimon, La Veronal and Kobalt Works. Between 2009 and 2010, she was part of the “Kamuyot” project, a piece by the Batsheva Dance Company aimed at teenagers and presented at various secondary schools in Sweden and Israel over a period of eight months.

Núria Guiu examines consciousness of corporality and the new body-mind relationship in the digital era through choreography and electronic music. She and the social educator and dancer Pau Milla are part of the Perifèria Collective, which is committed to artistic work that integrates the tools of dance and movement to encourage a peaceful and consensual resolution to conflicts caused by social interaction, as well as the development of a creative approach.
