Bani Brusadin

Researcher in arts and culture

An independent researcher in arts and culture who focuses his activity on unconventional forms of creativity in communication, often adopting artistic attitudes and strategies in non-artistic contexts. As an academic, his fields of interest range from social and radical uses of images in social media and in transmission projects to explorations of new global subcultural forms that redefine the idea of community life and imagination in a post-digital setting. He is a lecturer at the Universitat de Barcelona and at the Escola de Disseny Elisava, where he teaches art, technology, digital cultures and social transformation. 

Since 2004 he has directed The Influencers festival along with the artists Eva & Franco Mattes, a festival dedicated to unconventional art, guerrilla communication and radical entertainment. He has also taken part or collaborated in various art and activism projects over the last 15 years. He has a PhD in Advanced Studies in Artistic Production from the Universitat de Barcelona, and has been an external collaborator with the CCCB since 2002.
