César Rendueles

PhD in Philosophy, lecturer in Sociological Theory at the UCM

PhD in Philosophy and a lecturer in the Department of Sociological Theory at the Complutense University of Madrid. For eight years, he was in charge of cultural coordination at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. He has edited classical texts by Karl Marx, Walter Benjamin, Karl Polanyi, Jeremy Bentham and Antonio Gramsci. 

He is the author of Sociofobia. El cambio político en la era de la utopía digital (2013), Capitalismo canalla (2015), En bruto. Una reivindicación del materialismo histórico (2016) and Los (bienes) comunes. ¿Oportunidad o espejismo? (2016), the latter with Joan Subirats. That same year he contributed to the collective volume Cultura en tensió, along with other authors such as Nando Cruz, Lucía Lijtmaer and Marina Garcés. His works have been published in a dozen countries. He is a columnist for the newspaperEl País and a regular contributor to other media publications such as eldiario.es and CTXT.
