Esther Vivas

Journalist specialising in political and social analysis

A journalism graduate with a master's degree in sociology, she is now a journalist specialising in political and social analysis, maternities and feminism, and agro-food policies and critical consumption. She is also the author of Mama desobedient: Una mirada feminista a la maternitat (2019) and El negocio de la comida: ¿Quién controla nuestra alimentación? (2014), among other books.

She regularly writes for El Periódico de Catalunya and the magazine Opcions. She also takes part in television talk shows such as Més 324, Vespre 24, El Debat de La 1 and Bàsics Betevé as well as radio talk shows such as Catalunya nit, on Catalunya Ràdio, and El matí, on Ràdio 4.

She is a lecturer for the Master's Degree in Ecological Agriculture at the Universitat de Barcelona and in Development and Cooperation at the Universitat Ramon Llull. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the magazine Viento Sur, and is a recipient of the 2015 Biocultura Award for environmentalist journalism.
