Emilio Santiago Muiño

Anthropologist and activist, member of the Transdisciplinary Research Group on Sociological Transitions

He holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s Degree in Public Orientation Anthropology. He is a member of the Transdisciplinary Research Group on Sociological Transitions and group behind the “Last Call” manifesto. An activist and founder of the “Break the Cycle” Institute of Transition, he has considerable experience in managing social movement projects. He was involved as an outreach environmental educator on the “Terrace allotment” project, at the Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo, in the Madrid Region. 

Besides his scientific publications, he has written essays such as No es una estafa, es una crisis (de civilización) (2015) and Rutas sin mapa: Horizontes de transición ecosocial (2016), among other works. He is also the author of the poetry collection La llamada del mar (2011), a member of the Punto de Fuga rap group and a lyricist for the group Las Órdenes de Mayo.
