Margarita León

Co-chair of Spain’s Social Policy Network (REPS)

A PhD in Sociology and a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Institute for Government and Public Policies (IGOP) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and a PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics. Between 2004 and 2010 she was a lecturer in European Social Policy at the School of Social Policy, Sociology, and Social Research at the University of Kent. Her main areas of research are comparative social policy, welfare-state reforms in Europe and the relationships between the social organisation of care work and immigration.

She is the co-chair of Spain’s Social Policy Network (REPS) and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Social Policy Network (Espanet). She is also an analyst and editor at Agenda Pública and the editor of works such as The Spanish Welfare State in the European Context (2011) and The Transformation of Care in European Societies (2014).
