Alicia García Ruiz

PhD in Political Science and Sociology and Professor of Philosophy at University Carlos III of Madrid

PhD in Political Science and Sociology and Professor of Philosophy at University Carlos III of Madrid, where she is a member of the Hermes philosophical research group. She is also a member of the Spanish Philosophy Network’s Universities Committee and is on the governing board of the Analytical Philosophy Society. She was previously a lecturer in Contemporary Philosophy at the Universitat de Barcelona and a lecturer for the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Thought and Classical Tradition at the UB, as well as guest lecturer for the Master's Degree in Political Science at the UAB and in the postgraduate course in social democracy: public policies and new social bands (UB). She divides her interests between contemporary philosophy and political and social theory. 

Before she moved to Madrid, she carried out research activity at the Chair of Contemporary Philosophy at the UB. She has a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from Johns Hopkins University (USA) and in Political Sciences and Sociology (Universidad de Granada). She has a Master of Advanced Study in comparative literature (UAB).
