A graduate in Law from the Universidad de Sevilla in 2004, Filigrana is a practising lawyer and a member of the Seville Lawyers’ Association. She specialises in Employment and Union Law, is an expert on Immigration Law, and has a Master’s Degree in Human Rights, Interculturality and Development from the Universidad de Pablo Olavide de Sevilla. 

The author of El pueblo gitano contra el sistema-mundo. Reflexiones desde una militancia feminista y anticapitalista (2020), she is an activist for human rights against police violence and repression, and is a member of the Andalusia Workers’ Union (SAT). She describes herself as a feminist and part Roma.
