Irene Solà

Poet and writer

She has a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona and a Master's Degree in Literature, Film and Visual Culture from the University of Sussex. Her book of poems Bèstia (2012) received the Amadeu Oller Poetry Prize and has been translated into English. Her first novel, Els dics, won the 2017 Documenta Award. Her texts and works have been exhibited at the CCCB, at the Whitechapel Gallery and at the Jerwood Arts Centre (London), a the Bòlit de Girona, at the ACVIC, at the Galería JosédelaFuente (Santander), at the Sant Cugat International Poetry Festival and at the Festival Poesia i +, among other places, and she is a regular contributor to La Llança. 

In January 2019 she received the Anagrama Books Award for her novel Canto jo i la muntanya balla. Also translated into Spanish, it received the 2019 Núvol Award, in the Bookmark category, and the #PremioCálamo award, in the Otra Mirada category, in its Spanish edition.
