Lecturer at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid and a member of the Ordinary Sociology research group. She received her doctorate from the Sorbonne (Paris) and has been a researcher at the Paris Centre d’Études de l’Actuel et le Quotidien (CEAQ), at the London School of Economics and at the University of Surrey's Digital World Research Centre.

Her main areas of research are the uses, practices and presence of digital communication and information technologies, especially in relation to their involvement in contemporary configurations of subjectivities and affects, as well as youth and musical cultures and practices with regard to the role of technologies in making and listening to music. She has had numerous articles, chapters and books published, notably A contratiempo: Un estudio de las temporalidades juveniles (2000), Le temps des jeunes: Rythmes, durées, virtualités (2001) and Understanding Mobile Phone Users and Usages (2005), and as a co-author and editor, Mobile World: Past, Present and Future (2005) and Experiencing Broadband Society (Peter Lang, 2010).
