An actress and a writer, Patricia Paola Fernández deals with the history of Chile in her work, as well as memories of the dictatorship’s victims. Her published novels include Mapocho (2002), Av. 10 de Julio Huamachuco (2007), both of which earned her the Municipal Literature Prize, Fuenzalida (2012), Space Invaders (2013), Chilean Electric (2015), which won the National Council of Culture and the Arts Prize for best novel in the Published Works category, and La dimensión desconocida (2016), which won the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize, awarded by the Feria del Libro de Guadalajara. She is also the author of the essay Voyager, where she reflects once more on official, popular and personal memories. 

She defines herself as an uncomfortable and occasionally fervent Chilean who writes so as not to forget what must never be forgotten.
