PhD in Philosophy and Master's Degree in Bioethics and Law. Canimas lectures at the Universitat de Girona, giving classes in applied ethics to bachelor's degree courses in Social Education, Social Work and Pedagogy and Philosophy of Education in Pedagogy. He is also a collaborating lecturer at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and in the Master's in Ethics Applied to Social Action at the Universidad Pública de Navarra, as well as a co-director and lecturer of the University Expert Course in Ethics Applied to Social and Psycho-Educational Action, at the Institut Borja de Bioètica - Universitat Ramon Llull. 

Canimas is also a member of the Catalan Social Services’ Ethics Committee and of the Universitat de Girona's Ethics, Research and Biosecurity Committee, among other things.
