Enric Casasses

Poet, playwright and rhapsodist

Poet, playwright, rhapsodist, editor, translator and author of a genuine, groundbreaking work reclaiming the tradition of oral poetry. With a very eclectic educational background – from troubadour poetry to psychedelic surrealism, as well as authors such as Verdaguer and Víctor Català – Casasses has become the oral and written testimony of a new way of creating poetry in Catalan literature.

A recipient of numerous literary awards, in 2012 he received the National Prize for Literature from the National Board of Culture and Arts (CoNCA) in recognition of his literary and artistic career. This year (2020) he received the Premi d’Honor de les Lletres Catalanes.
