Carolina Astudillo

Producer, journalist, researcher and educator

Producer, journalist, researcher and educator. She has a diploma in Film Studies from the Catholic University of Chile and a Master's Degree in Creative Documentaries from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has worked in research, documentary creation and writing, her pivotal theme being women and historical memory. Her works range from experimental to documentary films.

Her films have been screened at museums and educational institutions, such as Tabakalera, the Museu d'Història de Catalunya, the Université Paris-Sorbonne, the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the University of Chile and USACH. Her documentaries De monstruos y faldas (2008), Lo indecible (2012), El deseo de la civilización: Notas para El gran vuelo (2014) and Un paseo por New York Harbor (2019) have received prizes and been screened at national and international festivals.

As an educator she teaches course, seminars and masterclasses at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ​​the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the University of Santiago (Chile), the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia) and the Universidad Chileno-Británica de Cultura (Chile) and at the cinema schools ESCAC, ECIB, Màster Lav, La Casa de l'Cinema and LENS (Spain).

She has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain (AACCE) since 2016.
