Fernando Vallespín

Professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he did most of his studies himself and where he has held positions like vice-rector of Culture, and director of the Department of Political Science and of the Centre for Political Theory of the University. He was a postdoctoral Fulbright researcher at Harvard university, and visiting lecturer at the universities of Frankfurt and Heidelberg, Veracruz and Malaysia. He has published various books and over 100 academic articles and chapters of political Science and Theory books in Spanish and foreign magazines, with special predilection for political theory. He was Chair of the Sociological Research Centre from May 2004 to May 2008, academic director of the Ortega-Marañón foundation (2012-2015), Chair of the AECPA association (2013-2015) and member of the IPSA Executive Council (2014 -2016). He often collaborates on various media, and is a columnist in the ‘El País’ newspaper.
