Karma Peiró

(Barcelona, 1968)

Journalist who specialises in Internet and Information and Communication Technologies, and is a reference figure in data journalism circles. For the last 15 years she has taught at different Catalan universities and worked with public authorities, as well as holding positions of responsibility at Catalunya Ràdio and 3cat24.cat. She chaired the Digital Journalists Group (1999-2001) and directed www.naciodigital.cat until May 2018. Karma Peiró is known in the media for her innovative, open and pro-transparency vision and as an activist.

She has held positions of responsibility at Catalunya Ràdio, La Vanguardia Digital and 3cat24.cat, among other media. She was president of the Digital Journalists Group (GPD) from 1999 to 2001.
