Joumana Haddad

Joumana Haddad is a writer, poet, translator and journalist. Feminist and staunch critic of sexism in Lebanese society, she founded Jasad (Body), a cultural magazine on art, literature and “sciences of the body, in its erotic, social, aesthetic, anti-aesthetic and linguistic dimensions”, which she is the editor-in-chief of. She was responsible for the cultural pages of the Lebanese newspaper An Nahar. She is also the author of poetry and essay books (Yo maté a Sherezade, Editorial Debate, 2011), and was part of Beirut39, a transnational project bringing together the best Arab writers under the age of 39.
