Why do we think about football?
Simon Critchley, the British philosopher and Liverpool fan, has created a theory that links football to the human condition. It considers that a match contains all the ingredients of life: space, time, passion, reason, beauty, emotion, destiny, uncertainty and chance. He affirms that this is a sport where solidarity and collective identity prevail. The teams have their own stories, myths and values, which often end up being confused with those of the cities they represent.
