Activitats Biennal
Motherhood, activism and democracy
Behind the idealised image of motherhood, there are truths that are often concealed: physical pain, tiredness, concern for one's professional life, dissatisfaction and even regret. The discomfort of many mothers make the importance of care and attention clear, both in private and public settings.
Jane Lazarre, the author of The Mother Knot, a leading work on maternity and feminism, speaks with Bel Olid about the personal and social contradictions of motherhood, but also about other struggles that contribute to the construction of a fairer, more democratic society.
