Lurdes Vidal
Director of the Arab and Mediterranean World Department at the IEMed, Chief Editor of the journal afkar/idees and co-director of the Observatory of Islamophobia in the Media. With a bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpretation (UAB), she lived in Damascus to perfect her Arab studies. She lectures in the master's degree on the Arab and Islamic World (UB), the master's degree on International Relations (IBEI) and the degree in International Relations (URL – Blanquerna). Author of Siria. Esperanzas defraudadas (CCOO, 2014); Syria or the inevitability of feeling concerned (Euromed Survey, 2014); After the ‘Spring’ Euphoria, a Restrained Optimism (Euromed Survey, 2012), Syria, Vertigo in the Face of a Radicalised Revolution and an Uncertain Future (IEMed Mediterranean Yearbook, 2012). She collaborates with many different Catalan media channels.
