Arnau Monterde

PhD in the Information and Knowledge Society from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). Since 2011 he has coordinated the Technopolitics project for the Communication Networks and Social Change research group at the UOC’s Internet Interdisciplinary Institute. He researches the relationship between societies and communication technologies, with a special emphasis on political participation and democracy in the network society. He is one of the promoters of the Decidim project, the digital participation platform developed by Barcelona City Council. He has also taken part in European projects on technological autonomy, democracy, decentralisation, open-source software and Blockchain, namely D-CENT and DECODE.
