A graduate in Audiovisual Communication. She has an interdisciplinary master's degree in media and interactive cognitive systems from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. In 2010 she coordinated the Funky Mobile Ideas R&D Department at the Campusmóvil Lab. She worked with the Pilot Collective in creating urban installations, which promoted the creation of audiovisual content from La Sagrera residents and their mass distribution to mobile devices via Bluetooth.
A multimedia journalist expert in technological strategies and a researcher specialising in human interaction with devices, Mara Balestrini is a collaborator with the CCCB Lab and Ideas For Change, a lecturer in new media and community management at the MK3 Higher School of Audiovisual Communication and a researcher in the GTI group.
