On Truth and Lies in an Extra-Moral Sense
With a piece that is performed in museums around the world, Peter Stamer queries the search for truth through the conclusions of Nietzsche. The German philosopher thought that man found truth by cheating with his use of metaphors. Peter Stamer and Frank Willens showcase this conflict by using their own stage metaphor.
The piece queries how man tries to give significance to his existence through language, thereby falling into a trap of concepts, where man gets lost in his own thoughts and is incapable of seeing beyond them.
