Revising democracy
Challenges and new frontiers
Does democracy have the capacity to include 'new electorates'? In order to take into account the new circumstances, claims and needs of voters? Those of new citizens with interests that are different and unattended by party political programmes. Those of women with needs who struggle with the incomprehension of non-egalitarian institutions. Those of future generations, conditioned by decisions that are taken today...
Democracy is facing new challenges that make it necessary to reflect, so that, more than ever, it can be the most egalitarian and participatory system of government.
