Maria-Àngels Roque
PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology and bachelor’s degree in Modern History from the University of Barcelona; diploma in Mass Communication from the École Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) of Paris. She is currently director of the Department of Mediterranean Cultures and Civil Society at the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), and director of the Quaderns de la Mediterrània journal.
As an anthropologist, she has done prospective and anthropological research on the Iberian Peninsula and in the Mediterranean area. She was technical director of the EuroMed Civil Forum (Barcelona, 1995). She currently focuses her research on the civil societies of the Mediterranean countries.
She is a visiting lecturer of Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and she has been invited by various international universities and research centres. Since 2014, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Euro-Mediterranean Women Foundation (EMWF).
