Carlo Ratti

(Torí, 1971)

Architect and engineer. He graduated from the Politecnico di Torino and the École nationale des ponts et chaussées de París, and later earned a PhD at the University of Cambridge. He is currently a lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he directs the Senseable City Lab, a research group that explores how new technologies are changing the way we understand, design and ultimately live in cities. His latest book is The City of Tomorrow: Sensors, Networks, Hackers, and the Future of Urban Life (Yale University Press, 2016).
