Georges Didi-Huberman

(Saint-Étienne, 1953)
Philosopher and art historian, he is one of Europe's most interdisciplinary thinkers. He is a lecturer at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He is notable for having made an exhaustive study of the uses and meanings of images in contemporary culture, especially in its ethical, political and symbolic dimensions. He has written works of particular importance, such as Imágenes pese a todo: una historia visual del Holocausto (Paidós, 2004) and Cuando las imágenes toman posición (Antonio Machado Libros, 2008). He recently published Pasar, cueste lo que cueste (Shangrila, 2018), a result of his collaboration with the Greek woman poet Niki Giannari, where he leaves aside the plight of refugees and considers the concepts of pariah, stateless and migrant.
