Algorithm game
We live in a time of algorithms, i.e. programmed automatisms that rapidly provide us with relevant information and options to choose from. In principle, this should ensure more equality, because everyone will be judged by the same rules. Unfortunately, these models are opaque and end up reinforcing discrimination and prejudice.
The Power of Algorithms is an experimental board game resulting from a collaboration between the artist Joana Moll, the programmer Ramin Soleymani, the CCCB Education's 'Univers Internet' project and the unconventional art festival and communication guerilla The Influencers. Adolescents, secondary-school teachers and families, as well as public influencers, can take part in this free public activity. The game is inspired by the work of Cathy O’Neil, who denounces the management of data to foster social, cultural and political inequalities.
