Social networks, algorithms, democracy and post-truth

Post.truth was word of the year in 2016. Since then, there has been increasing debate surrounding the power of digital algorithms and social networks. The controversy about their capacity for manipulation and influencing everything has reached unimaginable levels.

This conference will analyse the challenges created by algorithms and social networks, while rethinking the opportunities that they also offer, based on the application of models for democratic governance.
