Gani Mirzo

Kurdish musician, born in the Syrian city of Al-Qamisli, who has managed to link the sounds of East and West. He settled in Barcelona in 1994 to research flamenco. In 1995 he created the Gani Mirzo Trio, a group known for its efforts to fuse Kurdish and oriental music with flamenco and jazz. There 2014 CD was dedicated to the Domiz refugee camp in Kurdistan (Iraq), which houses over 100,000 people today.
