Eduard Aibar

(Barcelona 1962)
Professor of Science and Technology Studies at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) where he heads a research group on Open Science and Innovation. Did post-doctoral work at the University of Maastricht University (the Netherlands), the University of Barcelona and the University of Salamanca. He was the deputy director of research at the UOC and the director of its Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3). Has published several works on interactions between contemporary technoscience and social and organisational changes in areas such as urban planning, the State and the Internet. Recently directed two research projects on relations between Wikipedia and the world of science and academia and is currently researching neo-liberal policies in scientific activity.
